>> ama: good evening, we do begin with breaking news in san francisco. abc-7 news reporter sergio quinn tan nice on california and hyde streets were police are searching for a gunman. reporter: and actually california just opened within the last two minutes. it had been shut down to traffic since 6:30 this evening. let's show you some video we just shot. a little less than an hour ago, a man and woman were brought out in auction, police tell us this was a domestic violence situation and they were called here by neighbor of the couple. the neighbor told police he heard the couple were arguing in their apartment. he knocked on their door, and the man said he had a gun, and that prompted this response by police. now after three and a half hours of negotiations, the couple did come out unharmed. and they have been taken into custody. police tell us they have not yet found a firearm but they are searching that apartment. reporting live in san francisco, sergio quinn tan fashion abc-7 news. >> ama: an emotional outpouring for the victims of the deadly shooting in connecticut. people

their lives. good evening i'm ann notarangelo. a developing story out of san francisco. police have surrounded an apartment building. police say a gunman is barricaded in an apartment. cbs 5 reporter is there. >> reporter: as you can see behind me this whole block is filled with police vehicles, emergency vehicles of just about every type. they've been here all evening. now let's take a look at video. this happened about 6:30 with what police say may have been a domestic disturbance. they di rived on the scene. there was some talk of a weapon. this escalated. so he said there had been some connection. they had some idea there was a weapon. going on that information they brought in the s.w.a.t. team. they brought other people in. >> a neighbor overheard some type of domestic dispute occurring with his next door neighbor. he attempted to make contact with the neighbor. the neighbor made some credible threats that he may potentially have a weapon. the neighbor called san francisco police department, advised us of the situation. at which point our officers respond. they attempted to make contact d
to remember the victims of the school shooting. kron four's jeff bush was with a group in san francisco and talked to people directly affected by gun violence and this weeks shooting. several dozen gathered at the playground in dolores park at sundown. it was a fitting place to remember the young lives that were lost on friday. reading of names. everyone was clearly moved by the east coast mass murder but stephanie dalton had a heavier heart than most. stephanie dalton knew one of the victims i work with jazz muscians and a very dear friend of mine, jazz saxaphonist, jimmy greene, who is a very beautiful person who's five year old girl, ana greene was lost. >> stephanie could not contain her emotion when she showed me the picture of her friend's daughter. >> ana was just bright and full and what everybody told me she had the whole world with two loving parents and a father who writes and plays the most beautiful music. >>reporter: megan scully has also been directly affected by a mass shooting. megan scully shooting >> i lost my brother at 101 california 20 years ago to a similar incide
